Rencon Workshop at ICMPC 10

(This guidance is subject to change. Please visit this site again for the latest information.)

Type-in Section

The Type-in section aims to build common grounds for evaluating performances rendered by human operation using computer systems. In this section, human contributors will render performances, using commercial music or original application. The organizer will provide an original performance interface to those interested. We hope that this trial will be a trigger to discuss interaction design for performance interfaces, music interpretation model, and its application for music education.

The participants will be given a dead-pan MIDI file (SMF, Format 1) at the introduction of the contest. The velocity of each note is set to 64. The program change (instrument) is set to 0 (acoustic grand piano.) The value of tempo (BPM) is set to 120 a quarter note. The data will not include any control messages nor pedals information.
